Sage House Pups Blog

I know I post quite a bit on social media, but I wanted a longer text platform to add more info on. Sometimes Facebook and Instagram have a limited word count, and I just can’t get all the words condensed to fit. So here are all my long form thoughts, fun stories about the dogs, our hopes and dreams, and current plans and how often they may change.
I will be setting up a newsletter here eventually, I just haven’t done it yet, nor have I decide how often I will post as of right now. We are kind of doing this for fun at the moment. Maybe I’ll make a side series specific to different projects I am working on. Let me know if you have thoughts, or have specific content you would like to see.
So anyways, this is the little introduction to one of the owners behind Sage House Pups. Hi, I’m Lily, the one running the website, the ads, talking with you on social media, taking fun pictures and primary care giver of the dogs/puppies in my care. I am 1 of 2 people running the show, my wonderful husband, Alex, is my biggest support. From running to grab me supplies, driving me and the dogs around to various things, to doing afternoon potty/playtimes. We are a team and actively involved in the business together. As I have said before, the dogs in our home are family, and that include the puppies that are born here.
From the time I was little I’ve loved animals. My first family pet was a grey and white cat named Smokey, and after years of begging for a pet of my own, my family got our first dog when I was a teen. She was an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie/Husky mix of some sort named Gracie. She taught me everything I loved about Australian Shepherds, and a lot of what I didn’t like in other dog breeds. Like how Huskies can be very stubborn. They are pretty, but not the dog for me. I am a firm believer that not everyone is meant for every dog breed. Aussies have been in my top favorite dog breeds list for years. And like in Our Story says, I asked my husband one day what kind of dog he wanted and we settled on Aussies and haven’t looked back.
While we are still newer to breeding, and still own our first dog, Adeline, we are quickly learning the ins and outs of this world. We have made mistakes and lost money along the way, but we have made valuable lessons, and I plan to share some of that in these blog posts, as well as take you on some of our day to day journey and thoughts.
Thanks for sticking around, and thank you for your support.
