One thing I have always done, so groom my dogs myself. I have learned that I love dog grooming, and I’ve gotten quite good at Australian shepherds. So I’ve decided to add a new project to mine.
A lot of dogs end up afraid of the groomers, or are unsure and build bad habits if not desensitized properly. While I have started the ground work by the time they puppies go to their new homes, there is still so much to learn and work with them on.
So I am offering to help with that by adding a Puppy Grooming Course. This will include: 4 training sessions working to continue desensitizing your pup, and building good habits and routines associated with grooming. In each of these sessions I will trim nails, work with getting them comfortable in the bath, standing on the grooming table and working with the blow dryer. This way your pup is calm, collected, and has all the tools to be a good dog at the groomers.
Training outline: Month 1, nail trim, working in the bath, blow dryer and tools (bath not included, just exposure). Month 2, nail trim, bath, blow dryer and tools (full groom included). Month 3, nail trim, working in the bath, with blow dryer and tools (this month I will focus on major struggles that I have seen in the past. bath not included in this one). Month 4, nail trim, bath, blow dryer, and working with tools (full groom included).
I provide feedback and give you short 5 minute tasks that are catered to each pup to complete in between sessions to help your puppy progress and become a grooming Champion.
Total price for all 4 session is $100 added onto the agreed purchase price of the pup. That’s 4 nail trims, 4 training sessions, and 2 full grooms. During the ages of 8 weeks to 6 months old a lot changes for your puppy, and supporting them with healthy, positive experiences during this critical time in their life will help them through their natural fear phases, and ensure they have a solid foundation for this to be an easy, positive experience in the future. Your future groomer will thank you.
I do offer grooming for all the dogs I have breed. If you have completed the Puppy Grooming Course you will get an extra discount as well as if you follow a 8-12 week regular grooming schedule.

Disclosure: weight limit is 65 lbs, and also will depend on breed/type of grooming required. I have not had the experience, nor do I have the tools to handle doodles, or commonly matted dog breeds/coat types. I am looking to further my skills, but I understand that this can take time and experience. Pricing may be lower or higher depending on the coat type/size of the dog as well. These are just my base prices.
